The Mentawai Bay Special Economic Zone aims to transform Siberut into a creatively and experientially enriching destination and residential community. It is built around advanced sustainable development and preservation, protecting the islands’ ecological and cultural heritage while supporting responsible economic growth.
It draws on everything the group has built before it: development and masterplanning, hospitality and F&B, the platforms that run behind them, and three decades of operating across Southeast Asia.

03The approach
Four Pillars.
You can’t always invest in the ‘next big thing’ and whilst we would all like to believe we have found the next Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or globally disruptive technology, the reality is these investment opportunities really only come along once in a life time, (if you are lucky!) So our approach is to build strong, stable, profit driven businesses and if they just happen to become the next big thing, well, that is a nice bonus.
The name
What does ilipa mean?
ilipa is an historical location 10 km north of modern-day Seville, in Spain. It was the site of one of the most strategic battle victories in Military history.
Scipio, 206 BC →Teams, not Heroes.
The lower case i stands for the ‘US’ rather than the ‘I’.
